This 10-piece natural trumpet set is made of brass. It  is a D/C/B flat trumpet by Keavy Vanryne that allows for modern and Baroque pitch. 'KEAVY VANRYNE LONDON MCMX CVIIII' is engraved onto the outside of the bell.

The proportions, weight and style of Keavy Vanryne's current instruments are modelled on a trumpet by Johann Wilhelm Haas in Nuremburg between 1710 and 1720, which is housed in the Grassi Museum in Leipzig.

Keavey Vanryne Trumpets is a partnership between William Vanryne, his son, Robert Vanryne and Stephen Keavey. William is now semi-retired from a career in technology and engineering education. Robert plays with the Gabrieli Players, the English Baroque Soloists and the Academy of Ancient Music. Now based in Dresden, he also plays with many of the leading German period ensembles. Stephen works almost exclusively on the natural trumpet with orchestras such as the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, with whom he was principal trumpet for twenty years.

In their Bourne End workshop they have been making natural trumpets for some twenty years. In that time they have made over six hundred instruments that have been sent to all corners of the world. The proportions, weight and style of their current instruments are modelled on a trumpet by Johann Wilhelm Haas in Nuremburg between 1710-1720 kept in the Grassi Museum in Leipzig. For reasons of economy, consistency and durability their standard instruments are made using modern techniques and machinery.
